Awaiting the 15th

Yesterday was an exciting day. I love exciting days.

I first woke up and finally went to the dentist.. after a long year wait. I keep up on my doctors appts, my eye appts, any other appt. except for the dentist. I hate the dentist. I felt like I was blessed for my efforts however, because my dentist is giving me a complimentary teeth whitening for my wedding. A sort of "Bridal Special."I couldn't figure out if it was really a "special" or if he looked at my teeth and was trying to help the human race from cringing.. me being the bride, I couldn't have guests cringe at my teeth. I was grateful anyways, special or not... My teeth will sparkle!

I have had an obsession with Cream of Wheat lately. I used to be obsessed when I was younger. I would get so excited when my mom would make it, and even more thrilled that she let me put brown sugar at the bottom of the bowl, as well as sprinkled on top. That was a bonus feature for sure! I would eat it a lot actually... It seemed like at least on weekends that's what i would always have for breakfast. I just loved Cream of Wheat. I don't know if its my attempt to revert to childhood years, or finding comfort in the familiar, but Cream of Wheat has done nothing but soothe my pallet lately. I had it twice the other day, and regardless of it being in the hundreds lately, it still makes me feel good. Cream of Wheat, I love you, you will always remind me of home.

We went to get our Marriage License yesterday! Easiest thing ever. In fact, it was comical, that's how easy it was. All they want is your money and an ID. So strange that it is that easy to marry in this State. They did make us raise our right hand, swearing that what we wrote was correct, so at least they took it somewhat seriously. But I felt bad for the people who get married there. Its a shuffle in, shuffle out type of service where they don't even remember your name, but they do offer to take your picture for an extra 2 for $10 deal they had going. I thought that was gracious of them.

I then was able to get my garmets! That was very exciting! Rob was able to get some much needed new ones, I got my first couple pair to try, and we both purchased our temple clothes. I must say, it was a very interesting experience. However, I would just assume that it being a Church run shop, there would be gracious people working there. Obviously I was being too bold to make that assumption because one of the women was a particularly interesting lady. It wasn't that she was rude, she just couldn't understand how I was confused by the many choices I was being asked to make. I made my mom come with us just so that I would have help picking out what I would like. I trust my mom. Shes been doing the temple thing for some time, so I trust that she knows a thing or two about the clothing. The lady would ask me a question concerning fabric or hook/tie or comb/non-comb... and I would automatically look at my mother. I have no idea which I will like, and I think that fact is very apparent when we announced this would be my first time going. She didn't understand this, and finally after a couple times of confiding in my mom, she annoyingly stated that I should be choosing things for myself, not asking my friend. I think that was when my mom made sure to correct her that she was the matriarch in this situation, but the lady didn't really seem to care. I then had to secretly, between giggles, consult my mom on which option I should be going with. On the shoes, however, I made sure to prove to her I could have an opinion on something I knew because at least with those, I could try them on. Now its all packed and ready in the back of my car.. Just waiting for the 15th to break it all in!

A little something to the lady at the store...

Dear Lady at the Store : I secretly saw that I made you smile a couple times, and I know deep down you thought I was funny. Try and smile more, you are very pretty when you do. But thank you for making the trip to see you worth while.

LoL, yeah, you'd think those ladies at the Distribution Center would be nicer - but they're not. They were downright brusque when I got my stuff in L.A. the first time! Ever since, I've tried to just get that stuff when I'm in Utah. They're a lot friendlier there, for some reason.
