Well - We have now been residents of Idaho for about 6 days, so we are starting to get the hang of this whole living in snow thing. My Mom, Grandma, and little sister left New Years day, but before they left they hung up this magnificent quilt my mom made! We could never afford a picture that big, so this was the perfect solution!
I was very sad to see them go... But I figured it was as good a time as any to step up to the plate when it comes to being the homemaker. I guess my mom inspired me. I made bread.
It was abnormally large...We found out afterward that being in a higher altitude is translation for cutting the yeast amount in half, unlike normal people. And it was supposed to have this...
Swirled within it.. But the beep confused me on this machine I have and I forgot to add it. By the time I realized I should probably add it.. Well, the bread was already in the baking mode. I guess looks aren't everything because it certainly tasted delicious!
You know you're in Idaho when...
Yes, I got to have the job of scrapping the car this morning before we left to help Rob's brother move into his apartment. I actually was excited, until I saw the ice sticking to it, and then I got serious about that scrapping thing. I don't want ice to stick to my car. My poor car.
I also got to use my Washer & Dryer for the first time! I think that was the most fun I have had doing laundry, and will be, for a long time!
It's interesting because with snow comes the need to stay indoors. I am sure most people know this, but being from California.. You can only stay inside for so long. Rob and I were getting a little stir crazy, and we had a Redbook movie to return, so we decided to walk to Walgreens.
It was actually a lot of fun! We bundled up completely, and we sang songs to each other the entire way while trying to step in the deepest most perfect snow we could find!
We certainly aren't freezing our buns off, and this Winter Wonderland we have migrated to is actually beginning to surprise me. This might be fun!
Church tomorrow for the first time in our ward here. Wish us luck!
