Future Father

I hope you all are having a great fathers day. I will update later about our adventure, mainly because our families met for the first time today. It was a perfect way to spend the day because we both got to be with our families. I woke up this morning and could not stop thinking about what an incredible father Rob will be some day. Regardless of him not being one now, I feel it appropriate to honor this future father in preparation for years to come. 

Here is to you, future father. Here is to the way you always make me laugh, even when I'm mad at you and try so hard not to do so. Here is to your quirkiness and your incredible eyes. Here is to your ability to tell stories, history lessons if you will, and the way you actually get people to listen. Here is to your enthusiasm that you have toward life and your contagious smile. Just seeing you smile makes me smile in return. Here is to your hand gestures you use while talking, and the different ones depending on the serious nature of your speech. Here is to your speeches. I could listen to you talk for hours because you always say the most perfect things. Here is to your determination to finish what you start. Here is to your love of others, and your countless efforts to make sure everyone surrounding you is happy. Here is to your messiness, I always miss it during the week. Here is to your service, and your testimony. I never knew a mission could make such a big difference until I met you. Here is to your knowledge that you have currently, and the knowledge that you continually seek. Here is to the way you eat cupcakes because it says so much about you, why not taste the sweet things in life throughout the entire experience. Here is to the romantic side of you, taking in all the little moments. I know for a fact you vividly remember slow dancing with me to itunes that one weekend, and I haven't forgotten it either. Here is to your desire to get everything you want out of life even if you have to search for it a bit to find it. You have determination, something that I am incredibly attracted to. Here is to your willingness to drive as far as you do for me. Here is to your hymnal arrangements that you sing, and your 5000 pairs of mesh shorts. Here is to you. You will be an incredible husband and father, and I am so lucky to have you in my life. Six months ago, even a year ago, I had no idea what was coming. I was scared, alone, and ready for something to change. Thank you for finding me and for being the amazing person you are. I love your corniness, I love your laughter, I love you. You have brought me back, you have given me so many reasons to be smiling, and you have completely changed my life. I couldn't be more grateful for your wisdom and the love that you show me, and I cannot wait for the journey ahead of us and the many memories we will be able to add to our collection. I choose you.
